Botanical Name: Lantana Montevidensis

Specs: Shrub; evergreen; fast growth, some varieties to 6’tall, ‘trailing lavender’ to 2’ tall w/ 4’ spread; not fussy about soil conditions; tolerates heat and dry conditions; likes full sun, protection from cold winters; profuse and long blooming season; prune to remove dead wood in spring; water deeply, feed lightly; excellent slope coverage and erosion control; crushed foliage has pungent odor; birds are attracted to the plants; deer proof.

Botanical Name: Lavendula Angustifolia,  Dentate or Stoechas

Specs: Perennials; evergreen; grayish or green aromatic foliage and flowers; good for edging or herb gardens; full sun; loose fast draining soil; prune after blooming to keep compact; deer proof; angustifolia (English) 3-4’ tall; grey leaves; flowers lavender; dentate (French) 3’ tall; gray-green leaves; lavender-purple flowers; blooms almost continuously; stoechas (Spanish) stocky, 2’ tall; narrow gray leaves; flowers dark purple; blooms early summer.

Specs: Shrub; evergreen; fast growling and sprawling to 8’ tall, pruning keeps it dense; flowers are 1” starlike lavender pink w/ yellow centers; blooms late spring; needs ample water and iron, if chlorotic.

Specs: Perennial; evergreen in mild winters; triangular fronds are deep glossy green; grows to 2’ tall; prefers partial shade; moderate water; excellent for flower arrangements.

Botanical Name: Liriope Muscari

Perennial; evergreen; clumping, grass-like leaves, 12”-18” tall; white or lavender flowers on spikes, spring and summer; use as border; ample watering but needs well drained soil; best in partial shade; deer proof.
