Botanical Name: Cycas Revoluta

Specs: Tree; evergreen palm-like fronds; very slow growing to 10’ tall; leaves are 2-3’ long; partial shade; excellent container plant; must have well draining soil.

 

 SCOTCH MOSS

Botanical Name: Sagina Subulata

Specs: Groundcover; evergreen perennial; dense, compact mosslike mass; tiny white flowers; semishade in hot areas; needs good soil, drainage, ample water and nonburning fertilizer.

Specs: Deciduous; large Maple-like leaves; fast growth to 60’; tolerates most soils, heat, wind; good street tree; deep watering in summer; subject to blight (anthracnose); ‘acerfolia’ has a smooth cream colored upper trunk and limbs, dense pyramid shape; ‘racemosa’ has patchy/mottled, buff colored bark, more open branching.
